Try free for 7 days. Then just $1.99 a month for a personal license, or $3.99 a month for a band license - see the details.

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit

Made in the USA

Rather not install anything? Get the portable zip (~100 MB), unzip it anywhere and run BandPeer.exe.

BandPeer is also in the Microsoft Store - the same app and the same free trial, if you'd rather get it there.

What it needs

not much

WindowsWindows 10 or 11, 64-bit
DiskA couple of hundred MB installed, plus whatever your library and the files the band sends you add up to
Camera & micFor video calls and the tuner - everything else runs without them
NetworkYour own wifi, with nothing to set up. For a band in more than one house, the owner lets BandPeer ask their router to open a port, and everyone else joins with the band code alone - see the guide
LicenseA 7-day free trial to start, then a personal or band license on your account. See Pricing

Installing it

three steps

  1. Run the installer

BandPeer-Setup.exe installs BandPeer for you alone, with no administrator rights, and puts it in the Start menu. .NET comes with it - there's nothing else to install.

  2. Open BandPeer

It asks your name and offers to start a band, join one or go solo - the guide takes it from there.

  3. Start your 7-day trial

It opens to the trial offer. Pick a personal trial to try it yourself or to join someone's band, or start a band and pick a band trial, which switches on chat, calls and sharing for the band and covers you too. After that it's $1.99 a month each, and $3.99 a month for the band, which includes the owner's own - here's how that works.

Uninstalling it from Windows' Installed apps removes the program and nothing else - your library, bands and license stay exactly where they were, ready for next time.

Check your download

optional, and quick

The installer and BandPeer itself are signed, so Windows can tell who made them. A brand-new release can still get a Windows protected your PC screen: that's SmartScreen saying it hasn't seen many downloads of this file yet, not that anything is wrong with it. Choose More info, check the publisher is the one named here, then Run anyway. If the publisher is anyone else - or "Unknown publisher" - don't run it, and tell us.

For a second check, each download's SHA-256 fingerprint is below. The same file always gives the same fingerprint, and a file changed by even one byte gives a completely different one.

The fingerprints for this release aren't published yet. The signature above is the check that matters most.

How to check a fingerprint
  1. Open PowerShell - press Start and type PowerShell.
  2. Paste this and press Enter. It works out the fingerprint of the installer in your Downloads folder and compares it with the one on this page:
    (Get-FileHash "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\BandPeer-Setup.exe").Hash -eq "…"
For the zip, use this one instead:
    (Get-FileHash "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\BandPeer-win-x64.zip").Hash -eq "…"
  3. True means it's exactly the file we published. False means it isn't - download it again from this page, and if it still says False, let us know. If you saved it somewhere other than Downloads, change the path to match.

To see the signature itself: right-click the file, choose Properties, then the Digital Signatures tab.

Missing something you'd actually use? Say so - that's what decides what gets built next.
